DEFENDING THE DOCTORAL DISSERTATION

During the department’s discussion, the topic and structure of the doctoral dissertation are discussed in the 5th term, and may re-discuss it if necessary. The research paper must be revised and improved by the suggestions and comments from the department's discussions. 

Based on the fact that the curriculum has been fully implemented and the tuition fee has been paid in full, the seminar to discuss the applicant's dissertation must be organized in at least 2 professional departments (professor’s team). The date of the seminar must be announced to the public and organized expanded with scholars from other universities and research institutions. 

If the dissertation is considered to meet the research requirements by the seminar, the research mentor shall submit a request to the Academic Council of the component school based on the minutes of the meeting and the conclusion of the experts. If the requirements are not met, the dissertation must be returned to an applicant and mentor for further improvement. 

In case of approval of the dissertation by the extended scientific meeting of the Academic Council of the component school, the decision, conclusion, and minutes of the meeting shall be submitted to the Academic Council of “CITI” University. The Academic Council shall be responsible for monitoring the performance of the doctoral dissertation and submitting it to the Council. 

If the relevant doctoral committee concludes that the requirements for the dissertation have been met, the dissertation shall be submitted to the University's Secretary with the relevant materials for real defense. This includes: 

1/ Applicant’s request for the defense;

2/ Notarized copy of a master diploma of the applicant; 

3/ Proof of applicant’s professional examination;

4/ Subject selection form, transcripts, and references from relevant school's principal confirming that the required number of hours of study has been collected by the curriculum;

5/ Dissertation published by the number of members of the Council;

6/ If a student fails to defend his/her doctoral dissertation, a student shall have the right to submit it to the Council again within 3 years. Application for re-defense shall be submitted to the Chairman of the Council for a doctoral degree.
